June 19, 2009 Toronto, ON � Knorr� is recalling one Foodservice soup product because it may contain undeclared egg ingredients. This product recall includes:

 

* Knorr Kosher Soup Mix � Chicken Vegetable Flavor with Pasta

 

The product is packed in a 62 g (2.18 oz) pouch.

 

The UPC code is 4800170660 (located on the back of the pouch under the bar code).

 

This product was manufactured in Israel by Unilever Bestfoods Israel Ltd., and imported and distributed by a third party.

 

ALL 'BEST-IF-USED-BY' dates are effected.

 

This recall was initiated after it was discovered that product containing egg was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of egg.

Customers who are in possession of the product are asked to discard it and call 1-877-270-7412, (24 hours) for information on the recall and to request a full refund. In addition, a customer services representative is available between the hours of 8:30 AM and 6:00 PM EDT.

The affected decorated chocolate figurines contain coloured eyes, hearts and flowers that contain undeclared egg protein. These decorated figurines are packaged in clear plastic bags with two labels. Alert Details:Health Canada is warning Canadians with milk allergies not to use the unauthorized health product, Dophilus Chewable Tablets (90 tablets), labelled as 'non-dairy,' because they contain trace amounts of milk protein from dairy ingredients used in the production process. In this light, this product is incorrectly labelled as a non-dairy source of probiotic bacteria.

Individuals with milk allergies can experience a variety of symptoms when exposed to even small amounts of milk proteins. These symptoms include breathing difficulties which in some cases can become fatal. Health Canada is aware of one allergic adverse reaction report possibly associated with the use of Dophilus Chewable Tablets. The consumer experienced hives, vomiting, a runny nose and diarrhea. After discontinuation of the product by the consumer, the symptoms cleared.

Consumers with milk allergies should stop using this product immediately and should return it to the point of purchase. Canadians who have used this product and are concerned about their health should consult with a health care professional.

S.I.S.U. Inc., the manufacturer, has initiated a voluntary recall of Dophilus Chewable Tablets. Health Canada is taking steps to confirm that this product has been removed from the Canadian market.

Authorized health products will bear an eight-digit Drug Identification Number (DIN), a Natural Product Number (NPN), or a Homeopathic Medicine Number (DIN-HM). This authorization indicates that the products have been assessed by Health Canada for safety, effectiveness and quality.

Wong Wing is warning people with sesame allergies not to consume product contained in 680 gram Wong Wing VEGETABLE Egg Roll packages with UPC Number 0 69459 01104 3 and production lot code A0219. The product may contain sesame not declared in the ingredient list on the package.

Consumers with allergies to sesame are advised to check their freezers and return any affected product to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
